Feerick, John D.

John Feerick is currently the Sidney C. Norris Professor of Public Service at the Fordham University School of Law, served as its Dean from 1982-2002 after a 21-year legal career at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

He helped draft the 25th Amendment to the United States Constitution, which established the procedures to be enacted in the case of presidential vacancy or disability. Professor Feerick’s other career highlights include service as President of the New York City Bar Association and the President of the Citizen’s Union Foundation. He has engaged in a number of endeavors for the Archdiocese of New York since the early 1980’s.

In 2017, he was awarded the American Bar Association Medal, its highest honor.

He is a graduate of Fordham College and Fordham Law School.
